THE CRUST PIZZERIA                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    In July, The Crust Pizzeria will open its doors in downtown Angleton. Owner Santana Vasquez Mauro lived for 20 years in Naples, Florida—long famous for its abundance of excellent Italian restaurants and pizzerias—and wanted to bring part of that culture and cuisine to our area. “It’s always been something I wanted to do,” he said. “I have a passion for pizza and love serving people.” He chose our city for his new venture because “the people are friendly and welcoming. I looked at surrounding cities, but I love the location in downtown Angleton.” When asked what will set his apart from similar restaurants—he will strive to use fresh and organic ingredients, with the house specialty being Neapolitan-style pizza. Their pizza will be made with lighter dough, also distinguishing it from other pizza options.
The restaurant will comfortably accommodate 80 people, and there will be a full bar. Plus, there will be live music on Friday and Saturday nights. So pencil in a visit for a summer evening filled with delicious pizza, wine, and music.

SEVEN SOULS TATTOO Owner Dee Cantu, who has been a tattoo artist for 11 years and owns another shop in Lake Jackson by the same name, chose Angleton because “I like to be where I can be exclusive. I don’t like to be around similar shops.” Dee feels he has a unique approach to tattooing. “I want to bring my style to Angleton because I think it’s a better fit for the town.” He sees his business as unique in a couple of ways. First, he offers online booking as well as serving walk-in customers, and second, “we do everything by the book. I want to bring a new outlook to tattooing. We are professionals in how we conduct business, and our artistic ability and procedures are top-notch.”

STEWART’S PACKAGING

Starting as a wholesale provider of paper and plastic goods in Houston, Stewart’s Packaging opened its Angleton location in February just south of town on 288B in the building that was formerly Elle’s Axe House. Owners Clifton and Lisa Bailey saw a need in Angleton since there are no big box paper goods stores in the area. Lisa’s father bought the original business in Houston years ago and in 2017
she and her husband Clifton opened a second location in Galveston.“We are a small, family-owned business,” Lisa says. “A real person
always answers the phone. When you walk in, you get personal service, and we offer business-to-business delivery. It’s been our family niche for 40+ years. Although most of our business is with other businesses, we also serve the general public.”

HOUSTON MOTORSPORTS, ANGLETON
When co-owner Phillip Orange was asked why he chose to get into the motorcycle business, he was quick to answer. ”I always say I didn’t choose it; it chose me.” Motorcycles seemed to always have his attention. “As a child, my mom would take me to the store with her. I always begged to stop at the motorcycle shop. I would walk around the store and dream that one day, I’d have one of my own. When I was seventeen, I walked in to buy a motorcycle, and the owner asked if I ever wanted to sell them. I told him yes! Then he said, ‘How about tomorrow?’ I showed up the next day and never looked back.”
Now Phillip and his business partner Dean Merrigan will be opening their fifth location of Houston Motorsports. When a motorcycle manufacturer suggested they open a store in Angleton, they thought it was a fine idea, and very soon, they will provide the opportunity for customers to purchase new or used motorcycles,all-terrain and utility vehicles, jet skis, and power equipment. Phillip believes customer service sets their business apart from others. “The customer needs to be satisfied,” he said, “so we take very good care of them.”
