The Angleton Police Department is a data and technology driven police agency that provides excellent training and benefits to its employees. We are always searching for highly qualified candidates and encourage you to challenge our rigorous hiring process. The Angleton Police Department hiring process consists of six (6) phases. First you must submit your application online.
Phase One - The Written Test
The written test will be a 50 question, multiple choice, examination that covers topics such as Texas Penal Code, Texas Code of Criminal Procedures, Texas Health and Safety Code, Texas Transportation Code, and other police topics. Applicant must make a minimum of a 70% to move to phase II.
Phase Two - Physical Readiness Test
Phase Three - Oral Board Interview
The oral board panel will consist of at least five police department employees and may last approximately 15-30 minutes.
Phase Four - Background Investigation
A personal history statement will be given to the applicant and thorough background investigation will be completed. An additional interview will held by the assigned background investigator during this investigation. A polygraph examination may be requested during the background investigation.
Phase Five - Interview with Chief of Police
Applicant will have an interview with the Chief of Police.
Phase Six - Conditional Job Offer
Applicant will receive a conditional job offer from City of Angleton Human Resources.
