Plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors all activities of the Finance Department, including accounting, budgeting, taxes, revenues, and expenditures. Ensures
the establishment and maintenance of financial standards and policies. Ensures compliance with Article 8 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Angleton.

The Finance Department oversees ongoing overall financial analysis, fund activity, payroll recording and reconciling, monthly closing of financial records, and
financial statement preparation. The Finance Department also investigates and solves intricate accounting problems and acts as an internal consultant to
other city departments by providing professional accounting advice on issues affecting operating objectives and results, such as cost reduction and allocation of funds.
