The City would like to address your concerns on the construction progress on North Chenango and Richmond. Due to the amount of inclement weather experienced over the course of the project, the project schedule has experienced delays (over 80 rainout days). As a result of these rain days, wet site conditions further exacerbated these delays as they compromised the accessibility and safety of heavy haul trucks and equipment, especially at the detention pond which affected the progress on the rest of the project. Detention must be provided to mitigate impacts to residents from the additional runoff prior to the installation of storm sewer or commencing the paving improvements. The Contractor has tried to mitigate impacts to the project schedule by installing utilities while access to the detention pond was limited. Based on current progress and the Contractor’s schedule, he anticipates the project to be completed by May 10, 2020. We will keep you apprised of any issues that may impact the project’s schedule.
