Winter Weather Prepardness


The City of Angleton has been preparing for the winter weather predicted to come into the city Sunday evening into early Monday morning. 

We have taken steps to prepare and plan for what the cold temperatures may bring. 


  • All generators have been serviced and fueled and are ready if needed.

 

  • A sand truck is ready to respond if freezing precipitation is experienced.

 

 

  • City infrastructure, such as water plants and wastewater, has been winterized. 

 

  • Facilities with exposed water pipes will be assessed, shut off, and drained as needed. 
  • Angleton Recreation Center has canceled all Senior Service for Tuesday, January 16th, 2024.

 

  •  First responders continue to be ready to support their community. 

 

  •  Angleton Police Department will continue to patrol and respond.

 

 

  • City staff with Public Works, Parks, and Emergency Management will be on call.

 

  • The Office of Emergency Management continues to remain in contact with Houston-Galveston National Weather Service, State, County, and local partners.

Sunday 1/14 – 1 pm – 6 pm

Monday 1/15 – 8 am – 6 pm

Tuesday 1/16 – 5 am – 9 pm

It opens Sunday, 1/14, at 1 pm and remains open until Wednesday, 1/17, at 11 am.
