On May 1st, 2021, GCTD took the reins from the Gulf Coast Center Connect Transit and became the leader of public transportation services in mainland Galveston and Brazoria Counties.

GCTD offers a range of transportation services in Galveston and Brazoria counties which include: fixed-route service, ADA paratransit, and shared on-demand service.

Fix Route Service Operations:

GCTD operates in the cities of: Texas City, La Marque, Dickinson, Bacliff, San Leon

GCTD operates in the cities of: Lake Jackson, Angleton, Freeport, Clute

ADA Paratransit services are for passengers who are unable to navigate or access the fixed-route bus system due to a disability. Gulf Coast Transit District Transit provides ADA paratransit services within Galveston County or Brazoria County within ¾ mile radius of the fixed-route bus stop in Galveston and Brazoria Counties for people who meet the paratransit requirements and are registered for the program through the application process. GCTD provides a shared-ride on-demand service that provides curb-to-curb transportation in Galveston and Brazoria counties for areas outside of the fixed-route services.
