The Parks Board is required to draft policies for use of the city's parks and recreational facilities. The Board also composes a list of recommendations for capital improvements to city parks. These policies and capital improvement recommendations are presented to City Council.
The Parks Board also reviews any proposed acquisition of land, buildings or other properties; construction or capital improvements of facilities; and/or any grant or devise of real estate or personal property for use as a park, playground or other recreational purpose. These reviews and recommendations are presented to City Council for appropriate action.
